Phone Sex FAQ

Look, we know most people have a bunch of questions about Phone Sex, so we've compiled a few questions and answers we thought you might have
and created this little Phone Sex FAQ Sheet for you. Most of the stuff here applies only to Australian Phone Sex services.

Australian Phone Sex reserves the right to change this FAQ from time to time at its sole discretion.

1. What Is Phone Sex?

Phone sex is a phone call fantasy, a sex illusion. The purpose of phone sex is to arouse and stimulate the caller usually in aid to masturbation. It's a fundamental supply-and-demand business transaction between two parties and nothing more.

2. What Type Of People Call Phone Sex Services?

People from all walks of life use phone sex for many different purposes. Many people who do not have frequent sexual intercourse with another person find it a safe and healthy way to release the build up of sexual energy, usually through masturbation. For some, it's an opportunity to play out a sexual fantasy that their loved one is just not interested in playing. Anybody over the age of 18 can call a phone sex service and usually anything goes (with some limitations).

3. What Is The Difference Between 1901, 1902 and Credit Card Lines?

Phone numbers with the prefixes 1901 and 1902 are government regulated phone lines. These lines have restrictions placed on them by law. Calls to 1901 and 1902 numbers are billed to your home telephone account by Telstra. 1902 numbers are just chat lines only meaning phone sex is NOT permitted on these lines. 1901 do not have this restriction but have other requirements (please see FAQ question 4 below for more information on 1901 lines). Credit card lines are completely unrestricted and not regulated by law. Only a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX or Diners) is required to access these services.

4. What Are 1901 Numbers? Why do I need a PIN?

Way back in 1999, the Government of the day brought in legislation effectively outlawing phone sex on any number charged to your telephone account, with the exception of the approved prefix of 1901 which was specifically designated for adult services.  (To read Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999 Sect 158A, Part 9A - click here). Which is why when you call a 1900 or 1902 service, the operator may skirt around talking sex, ask you what you are doing rather than doing anything to or for you, and may even refer you to another number, like a credit card service for example.

1901 numbers are completely legal and require a PIN number to be entered. A caller is required to contact Telstra and request a form to be filled in by the bill payer. This form is sent back to Telstra and a PIN number will be issued in the mail to the telephone account holder.

1901 and credit card phone numbers allow good old fashioned, full-on, no holds barred, hardcore, explicit phone sex legally.  No "what am I doing?  I'm just relaxing at the moment" , no "yes I am hot - this weather is killing me" , no "I'm sorry, I can't speak to you on this number - call me back on xyz" .

Please note that if you make calls from both your home phone and your mobile, both phones will need to be registered for 1901 services.  Your identity is not passed on to the information provider (the service or services that you wish to call).

5. I Called A Phone Sex Service And Nobody Was Available To Take The Call. Is This Service A Scam?

Not at all. This usually means that all of the phone sex operators on that particular service are busy on other calls. Furthermore, phone sex operators are human beings not robots and most of them have other commitments like partners, families, other work, etc. that stop them from working on the line. Phone sex operators on most services work at their own discretion meaning they work when they can. Specific work schedules are not usually enforced, therefore on occasion, there just might not be enough operators on-line when you call. Just call at another time, it's as simple as that.

6. A Phone Sex Service Is Advertised As 24 Hours. When Is the Best Time To Call?

Phone sex services are advertised as 24 hours because you can actually call them at any time during the day. As mentioned above (FAQ question 5), you may find on occasion that nobody is available to take your call. This does not mean the service is not 24 hours. For most parts, the best time to call a phone sex service is in the evening or on weekends. Some services will have operators on around the clock but this can not be guaranteed. Please don't expect there to be much around at 3am in the morning! Phone sex operators are people that need to sleep too!

7. I Have Been Told That Phone Sex Operators Are All Just Actors. Is This True Or Do They Get Turned On By This?

Phone sex operators are usually employed as actors for tax purposes. This does not mean that every call is completely fake and that the operators do not get sexually aroused by the caller. On contrary, most operators find this job highly stimulating and do this because they are highly sexual active. Phone sex is a safe and enjoyable way to have many different types sexual encounters with other people. Whether or not a phone sex operator becomes sexually aroused depends on you, each individual caller. If the operator is in the mood for it, they just might join in with you for the ride.

Tips For Phone Sex Callers

A. Be a smart consumer.
Use your brain and choose a phone sex line that really appeals to you and is in your price range. Don't wait until most of the blood is displaced from your brain to your penis before you find the right phone sex line. Remember the grocery store principle - "never go food shopping when you are hungry!"

B. Time is money.
If you are on a tight budget, postpone your call until you are well into arousal. Sometimes getting a head start, so to speak, is smart time and money management. Consider using a watch or a clock so billable minutes don't get out of control.

C. Start small and be picky.
Spend a little time getting to know a fantasy operator at first. Get a feel for her interest and talent as well as your mutual chemistry. If the experience leaves you wishing you had more time, try another line the next time. Shop around until you find someone who blows off more than your socks.

D. Have an idea.
One of the worst things a fantasy call operator faces is the caller who cannot think of a thing he wants to do and steadfastly refuses all of her suggestions. This is really annoying for an operator. You have set her up to fail, and she knows it. The operator knows you will not hang up and think, "I'm a slow-witted dud who can't even communicate what I want." The truth is you will hang up and say, "What the hell was wrong with that bimbo? What a ripoff! I'm never calling that number again!" Don't let this happen to you.  Know exactly what you want before you play.

E. Pay your bills.
So you think "blue balls" are bad eh? Just wait until you get black-balled by the phone sex industry. Deadbeat callers have caused so much financial ruin to this industry that phone sex providers have become much more aggressive in tracking down problem customers. Many companies now share deadbeat identities so that stiffing one company (and not in a good way!) will result in legal proceedings against you and the inability to call other phone sex lines as well. Also, remember that the fantasy call operator who was so good to you in the first place, may now have her pay severely cut due to your failure to pay your phone sex bill. Think about who you are actually hurting!

F. Know the difference between fantasies and reality.
Recognize that you are buying a phone call fantasy, a sex illusion. Do not press any operator to meet you, give you life guidance, or have your baby. If you behave, you may be granted special privileges such as an operator extension/code, e-mail address or P.O. Box number to send your operator a letter or gift. If you misbehave, you may get banned!  Remember that this is still a business relationship, not a personal one.

Your phone sex experience should not, in and of itself, produce any guilt, addiction, social isolation, financial ruin, scurvy, or excessive palm hair. It should be viewed as a fundamental supply-and-demand transaction between two parties and nothing more. It's quick, clean, no-obligation, predictable, safe, and completely controlled by the caller. In his heart, a man knows if this is appropriate for him.

So, if you are ready to treat yourself to a joyous excursion of the mind, pick up the phone and let your fingers do the walking.
